I love it!
Your guitar recording sounds really great! Is there two layers of guitar in there? It kinda sounds like it.
Either there is two layers done so damn well they sound like one, or else one layer recorded with some crazy rich sound. Either way it sounds amazing.
Also your voice is pretty amazing.
Keep up the awesome music :)

Jacob responds:

It's layered in my own special way! Haha
I was pretty proud of how that came out.

My vocals, however, not so much.
But what are you gonna do?

Thanks for the review!

I like the happy chimey sound of the whole thing. Makes me smile :)

The song could use some more low end, maybe just a low root note with the string synth. Also as a guitar player I found it a little strange sounding that all the guitar notes are plucked with (seemingly) the exact same intensity. It makes it sound a lot less natural.

Then again if that was the sound you were aiming for then kudos anyway because it still sounded fun and it's always the composer is always right! :P

OK--thank you very much for the detailed review. :)

The most peaceful apocalypse :P

Well i didn't watch the video (because my internet bandwidth is VERY limited) however I think it's great music to suit a meteor colliding with earth. Sort of in the ironic "Well we're screwed lets just enjoy the moment" kind of way.
I love how the mellow sound stayed through the entire song; I especially like the middle from about 1:52 to about 3:20. It sounded really creative and the layers seemed to fit perfectly in that section.
Also, the start riff sounds a lot like Pachelbel's Canon. I might be crazy though.

Love the feel.

I really like the ambiance in this loop, the strings make a nice base for the rest of the song to build on. It sounds very peaceful, with a hint of foreboding, as if something was hiding around the next tree... BOO! :O
Yeah... that's the thought that this song popped into my head :P

I would get rid of the distortion on the spacey lead instrument and it would help to keep the softness of the original sound. If you want to keep the full sound of that instrument without the distortion I might suggest adding more instruments (probably more string sections? or woodwinds?) and having them all play the same part. It might give it a richer feel than just having the one distortion part.

Also, it may just be my browser lagging a bit, but does it actually loop properly? It seems to just like cut off the distortion part when it loops. You may want to add another couple measures of just strings at the end to calm it down again before it restarts. Or just fade out the last note of the distortion lead.

Heavy and intense!

I love how the song just keeps coming out with new stuff, each time increasing it's epic intensity! Some points sounded a little creepy too. It was good!
I have to say my favorite section was around 1:00 when the piano starts and it goes into the really quick distorted sounding bassline. Also the section that started at around 2:00 fit really nicely.
But yeah, this definitely sounds like something to go as a sort of ambient battle music in a zombie game or something. I like!

DENT-de-lion responds:

ZOMBIE BATTLE!!!! Haha. Sweet, thanks! I appreciate that you like it not being repetitive - it seems like that is a bad thing to most people! I like the section around 1:00, too... This track will always hold a place as one of my most memorable older songs. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks again! Keep making awesome songs!

needs more stuff

I'm not sure if Epicness is the right description of the song...
I liked the parts that were there and I think the main riff has potential, but I think it needs more of pretty much everything to qualify as epic.
It could have been longer and had a few different sections w/ different instruments and chord patterns and stuff, because it seemed pretty repetitive right now.

Djadmin responds:

Epic in comparison my friend, comparison. That and it says rising, which implies that it isn't quite there yet.
Thank you for the review though, I always welcome criticism. Sad part is, I can't change it because I only have demo software, sad face =(.

Too long?

It had a really cool sound to it, and would make for an awesome ambient music, however it seemed pretty repetitive.
It seemed like the same thing through the whole song. You could have probably fit all of the content into a 3 minute song instead of 5, and it would be somewhat less repetitive.

DjEvade responds:

Thanks for the review, I'll take it into consideration on the next songs!

Epic talent

I love this cover... The orchestra sounds work really well.

The only thing that could have improved it for me is to incorporate a little of the original piano rhythm somewhere (because it's so iconic), and maybe done some sort of cool instrumental verse in place of the guitar solo.

o m g

You can't get much more badass than this song.
The beepy melodies and the distortion backing are just too epic for me to handle. I can't further review this because I have to go back to listening to it again.

Cheery!

This song is so happy! It's making my review so happy too!

Hmm, well there's not a lot awesome in my life except for my music. I play guitar in a rock band and I'm pretty awesome at that. I also spend a bunch of time writing songs. Most of them never get finished but the few that are are put on this site!
